october 2013

Sophia seems conflicted about what season she wants to be in?
First snow of the season, Brett couldn't even wait to get dressed.

It's General Conference weekend again!  This years feast included homemade buns for making subway sandwiches.  As I started to grind the wheat to make the bread, Gabriella quickly plugged Peter's ears.  You can see what her example lead to!  I love this example of the kids caring for each other.

I am so honoured to be so loved!

Peter has been making lots of fun sounds lately.  He loves to blow bubbles and gurggle.  Occasionally he will have a good belly laugh, but not as much as we would like.  He just started to scrunch up his nose - Sophia and Aunt Heather are the experts at that move.  We call it a "noser".  True to Parker nature, he loves his jolley jumper, and wants to eat any time he is awake.

It is still hard to believe we have a baby!  This little guy keeps everyone smiling.  He is so much fun!

Presents from Uncle Tony and Aunt Irene.
Uncle Chris gave her this cute t-shirt and hoodie.

Presents from Grandma and Grandpa Parker.

Gabriella and Mike have been working towards Gabriella's  Duke of Edinburgh Award.  This was her final requirement for the Bronze level.  They hiked to "the land", camped for the night, and hiked back.  The other kids wanted to do it as well, and she had some friends come along too.  It was a pretty cold, miserable night, but they did it!  Gabriella wrote in her journal that next time she would, " go earlier in the season, make a better dinner,  map out the route better, pack better gear, locate spots to take breaks, and plan a journey that was fun!!"

Sophia walked a good long way and then mommy picked her up.

This is the huge irrigation pipe they had to cross.
Gabriella wasn't as impressed with the pipe as the boys were!

This was the state of the shoes of the boys that hiked with us.  This is how they looked at the START of the hike!
