What have the Parker's been doing?

The weeks and months are passing so fast and yet as we want so badly to be in our new house, they seem to drag on forever!  Though this whole house building process has been relatively effortless on our part, it somehow manages to stress us out and keep us feeling extremely busy!  Mike and I have been searching through kijiji adds to find appliances, lighting fixtures, and possibly a new vehicle....

The old grey mare just ain't what she used to be!  We have been to the shop where our kitchen and bathrooms have sat for 3 years.  The steam shower is a beauty but doesn't work ... at least not yet (Mike is on the case).
We dismantled the kitchen cupboards and I have taken them to the shop in mom's house to clean, paint, distress and wax - They are ...

GORGEOUS!
Last weeks progress at the house is this beautiful mantle and one side of the house sided.  I am loving the colour! Lily says that I must, because it's exactly like our old house. Well I guess I know what I like. ha. She also noted that I painted our last cupboards cream as well!  The inside gets painted this week - can't wait.  Mike will continue to search for a part for the steam shower, a stove, a fridge and a washer and dryer, coach soccer, keep a full time job and try to be a happy Dad.  I will look for stone for the fireplace, start painting more cupboards, keep a handle on the budget, feed the family,  support continued learning, drive to lessons, pack up the house a box a day, and try to be a happy Mom.  All in all, this has been a fun and exciting project and if we ever have the opportunity to do it again, I hope we have unlimited money,  an interior decorator and lots and lots of pavement!!!  Oh the mud.   I am extremely grateful for this beautiful house and my wonderful husband and children.  We look forward to creating many wonderful memories here with friends and family.

March and April's excitement

Lily played "junior" in a midsummer's night dream. It was the perfect role for her. She was animated and funny.

Gabriella was "hippolyta", the royal duchess. She was stunning!
This year we listened to general conference on the couch...

Maybe not such a good idea!
Peter likes eating big stuff like crackers...
...and toys!

This amused Sophia greatly!

Doesn't he look like a gerber baby?

We have had stomach flu, respiratory flu, stomach flu again, and the common cold!  It has been a SICK house for too long!

Progress

We have had a cold, snowy winter this year, but our contractor keeps working! It is so exciting to drive out to our land and see the progress.  I shout for joy every time I see a real, live house --it seemed like it would never happen.

 The master bedroom
 Upstairs Family room
South view - looking like a house!

The brains and brawn behind the business!  Here's our men hard at work at one of their strategic planning meetings, preparing to launch ROOTSBID at Salt Lake City's rootstech conference.  Usually there is a lot more food at their meetings!
Hair today...

...gone tomorrow!

Can you believe it...our Lily is 13!  Although she mourns the loss of her lovely locks, we think she looks oh so glamorous!
Lil's  birthday party

Go, Sophia, Go! She is loving reading.
You never know what will happen when mom cuts your hair.
Teens! Drives us nuts that they can never hear us telling them to do their chores - you don't think it's intentional do you?

Christmas pj's and Lego

Supermom!

They still love building towers - Brett and Lil.

A visit from Aaron means music!

His hair really is that cool!

I want my food.

I mean NOW!

With friends, Liberty and Isaiah.
